do you think that state issued enhanced drivers licenses?

are going to be a help or a hinderance to the fight against illegal immigration? even though some states are appealing the mandate, given the supreme court’s given track record all american citizens will be required to get one to travel, so is that fair? will it stop the growing trend of identity theft? your thoughts?

Going to be a help.Anything that can protect us from identity theft, I don’t mind a few minor delays. We have to do something or we are going to sink.

It’s not so much a question of the enhanced license, it’s a question of policy towards immigration. Some states currently issue licenses to illegal immigrants. Under REAL ID, these licenses will not be federally honored. The security features on the license are irrelevant.

The REAL ID act is about terrorism, not immigration. Immigration is just a selling point to get the public to support the act.

just what we need give more money to government and let them into our lives and personal business.Next they will shove a leash in our *ss to keep track of where we are,go,and what we have.

I think that anything that protects us from identity theft is a good idea. I have no animosity toward giving proof that I am an American and as such am gladly going to do so. Anyone who would have a problem with any of this are the illegals and persons of questionable merit. It is time for our country to make Americans needs first and to identify anyone on our soil that does not belong here. Deportation should always be enforced if caught, on the spot. I no longer wish to support nationals from other nations that are looking for a free ride or their children either for that matter.

No type of ID is going to help anything if you are not even asked for it! When I went to register to vote after I gained citizenship I took my American passport with me. The people that registered me didn’t even ask to look at it. All I was asked was my driver’s license… I never knew drivers licenses were supposed to be a proof of citizenship, (people who are not citizens have them too) only that you could drive.

In my state of Maine we just had a high profile case of an Irish illegal immigrant that robbed a bank and bought the weapons for it using a Maine’s drivers license as ID…

Every time you attempt to help poor
illegal people, they stab you in the back and
find another way to get away.

    No I don’t.
They are not Americans. We have to pay to stay.
Or live is swaller. This is Club of America.
They must pay their DUES to our Club.
