This is a case of identity theft.

Not sure what is the best strategy here. To pay off the amount of $196 or see a report that says paid off or take the pain to file a fraud case with police and pass on a copy to the creditor and wait for 6 months to see the improvements in credit file ?

For now I have the reports from the 3 agencies but confused what is the best course of action in this scenario.
