Does credit card debt that sold to another company get removed from my credit after 7 years?

I live in GA, and it was a fraudulent HSBC card (identity theft). HSBC sold the account to Atlantic Crd, and for awhile I was hearing from their attornies, JP fry and associates, but they gave up when I never sent them any money. I am a major victim of Identity theft and has been chasing this case for almost 4 years. What must I do.?

i got pickpocketed awhile back… never thought the thief would even use my name and everything ..or come up with it. I went to police file report..got notary and all that.. Freeze my account for 7 years… now It’s still a problem. I check my free credit report and it’s so messed up.
