Vlog 005: Child Identity Theft/Fathers Rights

In this vlog I discuss what is going on in my life, and the whole Child Identity issue. I am a father who has steped up to the plate sort of speak and have been fighting for my rights as a parent when it comes to placement and custody of my child. These are just some events that I'm dealing with as of 9/02/08

This sounds like something my ex would do. Ireccently was awarded physical custody of my son. In addition had garnished child support terminated. I never thought I’d see this day happen since fathers always screwed. I didn’t need money went pro se and accomplished custody and child support on my own.
I understand I had a parent just like her. Just a quick note most Ins card dont have to have ss# on them because of that same reason all you have to do is request to take her ss# out. And I would strongly sugest you change her SS# if it can be done. Good luck with the custudy.
I can understand your situation but …..dont expect a miracle…. NO matter what here we have been dealing with parents using their childrens names and social security to get what they want …they are successful and they dont get prosecuted. Oh sure shame shame and everyone is shocked but not shocked enough to do anything about… your life as you know it will be controlled by wifey -N- her family have your mom call me i CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO GET HER
Ok for one this is my husbands account so dont worry when i start saying im a mother blah blah blah. Ok i just want to let you know that as a mother of 3 kids and its just appaling to me to see her mother do that to her. And just some advice and i dunno if it will do you any good change her ss number and do a credit check on her. It will tell you everything your child has in her name.
amazing that you can do yor show and still have a quick wit and good humor,your very srong minded individual,hang in there,my son went thru a situation like yours,but there was 4 children involved,and the ex–like yours..is a con-artist and scammer..uses the chidren a pawns..that was fucked up with the phone..typical dumb cop,the standards to become a police officer are a joke these days..My mother use to say,”No matter how bad, it seems at the time,it always works out for the best”she was right
Kyla is very lucky to have you as her Dad. And Riddlegirl as her step mother. From a past vlog of riddlegirl’s about what it means to be a mother, I must say I am impressed with both of you with your conviction to and commitment to being the best parents for Kyla. All my best to you through the upcoming trials.

I agree! I am adopted from birth my parents told me as soon as i could understand that i was, when i was 18 i meet my bio mom thinking everything would be perfict. It wasn’t like you said just cause she gave birth to me she didn’t love me like my mom does or my Dad!!

Both my children are adopted, and I had one of the biological moms do the same thing to one of my girls. If you go to your local social security office and explain what is happening they may change her social security number, they did for me. I know that’s not really your point, but it will give your daughter a clean slate. If you don’t change the number, make sure come spring you file your taxes before the “mom” has a chance to file first claiming her. (it’s a mess to fight) GOOD LUCK!
I worked with child support for 6 years. If you get custody, you will never get paid. Women are much worse than men about failure to pay and druggies are the worst of all. For the identity theft, stealing the identity of family members is extremely common but is seldom prosecuted. Usually because the family forgives and when it is the punishment is a suspended sentence or community service. Good luck!
I wish you all the best tomorrow and in the days to come with this ongoing saga. I know that it is hard for you to go through, along with RiddleGirl and Kyla, and I appreciate and admire you for being so upfront with the issues. I will keep you all in my thoughts until everything is resolved. ( ( Big Hugs) )
Check out Marc Rudov. Women are allowed to weasel their way through life. Although an act is illegal, the authorities let them get away. What do you think would happen if the accused were to be a male parent?

I agree with you PS. I watched two little girls end up with ruined credit by the time they were 18 due to there…get this…Mother using their names..starting with taking out a phone line. I understand where you are coming from. Thank you for posting this especially from the “Fathers Side” of it.

I posted earily but it must of gotten lost .. out in webspace or something like that .. Anyways it was about bless you and your family, be the voice of our children. After that post I went about my day. Well to say the least you vlog has been on my mind, I relisten to you. At the end you said contact our state representatives and congress people… It’s just what I’m going to do.WE all need to do this!! If there is no crime here, then WE NEED to change this.
THANK GOD…there are people out there like you that realize…and make sure that a child’s safety comes first. You keep protecting that little girl with all your might. Please keep your loyal fans updated on the out come! I will be hoping to the powers that be that you can keep her safe.

I do have a lawyer, and because no one on youtube knows my full name or any of my family theirs really nothing that my ex can say because I’m not technicly bad mouthing them.

Post #2. W/the identify theft & possible credit cards,contact a credit reporting agency(Equifax,Experian,TransUnion)& pull up a report for Kyla w/her SS#. Explain Kyla is 7 & U R her dad(prob.need to supply proof, birth cert).Then find out if there R credit cards in her name w/her ss#. Since she is a minor, this should be easy to fix, since U can prove that a 7-year-old did not open the accounts & charge the debt & they should be able to be closed & removed from her credit report. Chin up!
Wow! I feel for you, PoisonStinger, as well as for Kyla and Riddlegirl. Kudos to you for loving and protecting your daughter. However, I really agree with Kode100 below–you need to REMOVE this video! While I totally agree with you on this, you saying that her mom’s family is badmouthing you, you also have just done that publicly on YouTube for the world.
Thx 4 for sharing..hopefully everything will turn out ok. I agree w/ you there needs to be laws that protect children against their own parents if need be. I read in a magazine resently, that there is a program that you can freeze your child’s credit report so that nobody can open anything in their name until I guess they are 18 or your open it back up. Good luck with the hearing…you guys will be in my thoughts and prayers. BTW – I’m a fan and I’m never bored by your videos
There is a silver lining to the grandparents requesting their family to call you in. If you can subpoena and get this shown in your custody hearing that will only help you. Of course the identity theft by the mother is going to help you too. The first might be hard to prove, the id theft will be easy.
Stupid people do stupid things. They didn’t think of the big picture and are only hurting themselves by giving the court reasons to give you full custody. Smile as they bury themselves.
I hope you come out of this on top. I know a lot of fathers that are the better parent. They need to have more rights than they do. It’s a shame when a father has to prove that the mother is unfit when both of them are equally responsible for the child. Good luck!
